Health guru Michael Mosley has revealed his top five 'tweaks' to boost your wellbeing, which could help you shed pounds, shape up, and potentially extend your lifespan.
The brain behind the Fast 800 diet and a familiar face on television, Dr Mosley has shared his preferred 'tweaks' from the most recent season of his podcast.
In his BBC Sounds and Radio 4 podcast, Just One Thing, Dr Mosley offers listeners a weekly tip for enhancing their lives, and this series is now being adapted into a television programme for the BBC. His advice also comes in the form of his best-selling book also titled "Just One Thing".
Penning an article for MailOnline, Dr Mosley has detailed his top five straightforward lifestyle adjustments for better health and increased happiness, as reported by Bristol Live.
Michael Mosley's five tips to live a healthy life
1. Nordic walking
According to Dr Mosley: "Nordic walking involves using far more muscle groups than ordinary walking, so it is good for you. Finland not only has some of the happiest people in the world but also some of the healthiest.", reports Bristol Live.
A study conducted in 2019 discovered that participants over 60 who engaged in Nordic Walking three hours a week for half a year were notably stronger and had reduced their waistlines by an additional six centimetres compared to those who practiced regular walking.
This might be attributed to the fact that the Finns are at the forefront of Nordic walking, which utilises poles to propel oneself forward and is associated with numerous health advantages.
For example, a 2019 study published in the Clinical Interventions in Aging journal saw a group of individuals in their sixties assigned to three hours of either Nordic walking or regular walking each week. Originating from Finland in the 1990s, Nordic walking is a full-body workout that involves walking with specially designed poles akin to those used in cross-country skiing.
This activity can be performed on various terrains, making it versatile and accessible for people of all fitness levels.

Tech deal of the week
Apple is launching new tablets with a refreshed iPad Air and all-new iPad Pro hitting UK stores.
The iPad Air now boasts a more powerful M2 chip housed within its aluminium chassis, increased standard storage, new colours, improved connectivity and extended battery life. For the first time, this tablet also comes in two sizes including a standard 11-inch display and a much larger 13-inch panel.
If you're looking to go Pro, there's a significant upgrade with the 2024 range featuring a super slim design, a greatly enhanced OLED screen that's brighter and an incredibly fast M4 processor which makes these tablets faster than most PC laptops.
One deal that piqued our interest comes from Sky who are offering the 11-inch Air with Wi-Fi and Cellular from just £17 per month with no upfront fee and 100MB of data included as well. You can learn more about the iPad Air deal on Sky's website here.
This deal is based on a 48-month contract, with the total cost over four years coming to £816 - in comparison, the same tablet from Apple costs £749, but this doesn't include any data and requires an upfront payment.
Sky also offers other deals, including the 13-inch Air for £21 per month or the Pro for £27 per month.
As we've previously noted, Sky isn't the only network offering iPads on contract, with Vodafone and EE also providing customers with the option to purchase these devices via a monthly plan.
